The event will be coordinated by the Investigation Manager for the Vice Principals of Edinburgh University and the ENOHE Secretariat in Norway.
For its 14th annual conference in June 2018, the theme is „Resolving Conflicts on Campus: Strategies for Enhanced Policies and Effective Operations“. The conference will focus on strategies for early and fair resolution of disputes by comparing different experiences of higher education ombudsmen in a wide variety of settings. The conference will feature a mix of plenary talks, workshops and training sessions. Participants will be able to focus on specific sub-themes to suit their personal development needs.
The conference will provide a forum for ombudsmen and higher education staff working in conflict and relationship management. It will offer an opportunity to share established policies of proven methods for dealing with individual or systemic issues and operations and their continuous development as they emerge.
A conference planning committee composed of members from both sides of the Atlantic will review proposals for workshops, sessions and roundtables. A call for papers is forthcoming. More details on the final programme will be available by the end of February 2018 at the very latest.
